Job Description

This long established and independent estate agency based in Reading is undoubtedly one of the market leaders in the area. The company are currently looking for an experienced individual to join their team as a New Homes Negotiator to be based in their convenient office in the heart of Reading town centre.

Job description:

  • Monitor all property media and sources of information to ensure that we record all new site launches and add to our regional and national market intelligence
  • To occasionally visit new homes sites to obtain relevant site information for recording on our database
  • Interrogate regional local authority property portals to obtain latest planning applications for residential developments and consents for developments.  Update our database with this information
  • Link with other agents to obtain information on sites and sales information
  • Assist with weekly telephone calls with all monitored sites to obtain activity reports, sales, exchange and completion information
  • Accurately record all information into the new homes database
  • Provide a range of detailed market reports for  circulation to developer clients on a weekly/monthly basis as prescribed
  • Present information and reports as required to the Management team and new homes colleagues
  • Compile marketing strategy and pricing reports for specific development projects as required
  • Monitor other agents success rates on sites to help identify where new opportunities might exist for the company’s involvement
  • Attending all site events, launches and any other relevant meetings as required and providing sales cover for these events on an as required basis
  • Promoting the services of the company’s sales and lettings departments, mortgage advisors, solicitors and partners where appropriate in order to provide great service and generate additional revenues

Person specification:


  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of new homes sector and estate agency industry
  • Completed education to at least A level standard

This position will come with a basic salary in the range of £17,000 to £23,000 plus a commission scheme, enabling the successful candidate to earn between £25,000 to £35,000 dependent on performance.

The hours of work will be from Monday-Friday 8.30am- 5.30pm with alternate Saturday working (with a day off in the week following, and the occasional Sunday cover for sites for site launches etc and a lieu day will be provided).
