Rebecca Pratley, Property Recruitment Consultant

At Property Personnel, we truly believe that our team is amongst the best in this industry. This week we sat down for a chat with Rebecca about her role as a Recruitment Consultant here at Property Personnel.

Name: Rebecca Pratley

What do you do? I am a Recruitment Consultant.

How long have you worked at Property Personnel? I’ve been working here for just under 2 years.

What was property recruitment like when you first started and has it changed? Although I haven’t been with the company for very long, it’s definitely getting harder and harder to find good quality candidates, especially ones that are prepared to work the hours and weekends on the basic salaries that the industry pays.

What challenges do you face on a daily basis? One of the biggest challenges I face is the lack of quality candidates available to introduce to our clients.

What is the ideal candidate like? I love a candidate who has a personality, is reliable, has a good work ethic and a great attitude.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? I really love that I can be involved with changing someone’s life for the better.

How do you unwind after work? I like to go to the gym after work and take part in exercise classes to let off some steam!

What makes a good client? For me, a good client is one who trusts you and your judgement. It’s important that a client is willing to speak with you on the phone rather than just email too.

What’s the weirdest job that a candidate has come from? One of my candidates was previously working for an undertaker!

What makes a CV stand out for you? I like to see consistency in the jobs that a candidate has had, and a good personal profile makes a CV stand out to me.

What makes a CV go in the bin? One from a perennial job hopper!

If you could give one piece of advice to a candidate what would it be? You don’t get a second chance to make a good first impression, and interviewers make up their mind whether they like a job seeker or not within seven seconds of meeting someone.

If you would like to have a chat with Rebecca, or any other member of our team about how we may be able to help you, please feel free to get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
