Job Description

This high profile, prime central London Estate Agency has an enviable reputation and market share. The company is currently looking to recruit a Client Accountant for their highly successful Lettings Department. Ideally the company would like to employ someone with an AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification, but they will also consider candidates who have been working towards/studying for an AAT qualification.

This role will involve the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Posting supplier invoices and paying (purchase ledger duty)
  • Requesting Landlord funds if insufficient funds available to settle contractor invoices
  • Posting of bank statements and paying rent received over to Landlords
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit control – chasing rent arrears and informing Landlord if rent is overdue
  • Assisting with queries from Tenants, Landlords and Contractors
  • Dealing with bank statement and supplier queries
  • Banking of cheques/cash
  • Month end client schedules (Excel)
  • General Filing
  • Post/franking
  • Utility transfers

To be considered for this role you will need the following qualities:

  • Organised and efficient
  • Good at time management as this is a busy role often working to rigorous deadlines
  • Precise and good attention to detail
  • An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, basic Access and Outlook
  • Team player – the department all work together and help each other out

This is a Monday to Friday role and will come with a basic salary of c. £28,000 to £32,000 plus benefits depending on the level of expertise and experience of the successful candidate.
