Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC)
The REC is the association for the recruitment and staffing industry in the UK. They undertake rigorous checks on behalf of jobseekers and employers to ensure that their members operate ethically and to the highest standards. In fact, the REC prides itself on the high standards it sets for the industry:
- Over 6,000 recruitment consultancies in the UK are corporate members of the REC, all of whom are subject to stringent membership criteria.
- All REC members adhere to the REC Code of Good Recruitment Practice.
- All REC members comply with relevant legislation.
- All REC members are subject to strict complaints, arbitration and disciplinary procedures.
- Hundreds of applications to become REC members are rejected.
- The REC will expel members who breach the REC code.
