The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA)
ARLA was formed in 1981 as the professional and regulatory body for letting agents in the UK. ARLA is now recognised by government, local authorities, consumer interest groups and the media as the leading professional body in the private rented sector.
ARLA has 1,500 member offices throughout the UK including large multi-branch national companies as well as many smaller independent agencies. Membership is gained only by estate agents who demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of their profession and that they conduct their business according to current best management practice. ARLA members are governed by the Code of Practice providing a framework of ethical and professional standards at a far higher level than the law demands.
Being members of the REC, Property Personnel operate with similar ethical and professional standards to ARLA members, and are the recruitment agency of choice for many of these members. We are also recommended by ARLA to their members looking to use a recruitment agency.
To further demonstrate our commitment to the Lettings industry these are some of the measures that Property Personnel have taken:
- Creation of a specialist Lettings & Management division, unique to the property recruitment industry
- This division is headed by an ARLA qualified member
- Expansion of this division to 3 consultants to maintain and improve upon our level of service
- Annual attendance at, and support of, the ARLA conference
- Regular advertising and editorials in The Agreement magazine (The trade magazine for ARLA members)
