Fully Furnished instruct Property Personnel to find them a Managing Director

In July 2008 we were approached in confidence by Stephen Russell, joint owner of Fully Furnished, a leading furniture solutions provider to the property industry. The company had expanded rapidly during its 10 years of trading and were now looking to take on a Managing Director. As the business predominantly deals with estate agents, lettings & relocation agents and developers, it was important that the new MD had a good understanding of the property industry, but that he/she also had the business acumen to run a multi-million pound organisation and the man-management skills to lead, direct and develop an established team .

Following a couple of meetings between Stephen Russell and our managing director Anthony Hesse we were able to establish who the ideal candidate would be and we set out to find this person. As always, the more senior the role the harder it is to find the right candidate but after a about three to four weeks Anthony had drawn up a short list of three candidates. This list included Alec Watt who was known well by Anthony, who like Alec has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Alec had worked his way up to regional managing director level in a large corporate estate agency group so seemingly had all the right credentials to be a front runner for the role.

Anthony introduced Alec to Stephen and the two of them hit it off immediately. After two interviews Alec was offered the role and he successfully started with Fully Furnished in October 2008.
